Dili, 07 de Maio de 2025 – The Vice-Minister of Parliamentary Affairs (VMAP), H.E. Adérito Hugo Da Costa, took part in the official inauguration ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Timor-Leste, which took place on Tuesday May 6th, 2025.
The inauguration of the Angolan Embassy demonstrates the strategic partnership and strong cultural ties between Timor-Leste and Angola. The two countries have historical ties and Portuguese as common language, which is the basis for future cooperation.
Through the participation of H.E., the VMAP in this event, the importance of bilateral relations between Timor-Leste and Angola was emphasized, as well as the commitment of the Government of Timor-Leste to further strengthen diplomatic relations to contribute to national development and cooperation within the CPLP.
In addition to VMAP, the ceremony was attended by important authorities, including the President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos Horta, the Vice Prime Minister, H.E. Kalbuadi Lay, the current Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Timor-Leste, H.E José Andrade de Lemos, Representative of the President of National Parliament, H.E. Maria Teresinha da Silva Viegas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, H.E. Bendito dos Santos Freitas, H.E. the Minister of Justice, Dr. Sergio Hornai, the President of the Court of Appeal, Lieutenant General Lere Anan Timur, Ambassadors and other distinguished guests. END
